Like many of you I did our family's taxes last week. Was I horrified at how much Uncle Sam took? Hell no I was amazed at how low our families tax obligations have gotten. After deduction and credits for dependents, childcare, and college tuition our totally federal income tax obligation was just over 4% of our gross income -- 4% PERCENT!

And that's with just the standard deduction (we didn't itemize since I pay less than 3k a year in mortgage interest)!

Does a country where a family with a six figure income (very low six figure) pays only 4% seam like a country that's over taxed?
