Last night Nova ran a segment that discussed genetic influeces on "obesity" and the extent to which weight is regulated by our genes.
There's a strong slant in the segment toward cracking the science of it in order to achieve weight loss, but even those not interested in that might find the segment interesting. If I remember correctly, one figure they gave was that 70-80% of our size is determined by our dna.
