Who would think a humble green bean can surpass its lowly origins. I didn't know. I went to a local diner and it was one of the few options for vegetables.
I get my dinner and veggies. I see a plate of green beans which are stewed in tomato sauce. I took one bite and blown away. Really, I didn't know green beans could be so multifaceted. It must've been the flavorings. I detected hints of mint, oregano and garlic.
I usually will pass on the green beans because no amount of butter or oil helps! That day, I found out how important preparation can be.
So how do you give (or experienced) a ho-hum dish/food an extra zing, something that will be etched in one's memory?
