Ok, so I just got this email on Myspace.

Hey Babe. Aw, good for you for being proud of yourself and not caring about anyone else, and for what its worth, I think your rather sexy...In fact, Im REALLY enjoying your pictures.....

I find this so offensive and patronising.

Why shouldn't I be proud of myself?
Where did I say I didn't care about what people thought?

Why does this stranger assume I don't care, of course I care what people think of me, to an extent at least. For example I take pics and post pics that I hope people will like. I am human after all.

I hate condescending attitudes like this, I get them all the time. Like in a nightclub, if I am wearing a short dress I get comments like "Aww, aren't you brave wearing that" or "Good on you, you should be able to wear that".

Its really got me riled up. Mostly because this person thinks they are being complimentary to me. Or they think they are cool with fat people, and that they are telling me just what I want to hear.

I can't explain myself very well, I am sore and tired.

All I know is sometimes being patronised is a lot worse than just being outright insulted. :(
