Phil and I are planning a summer trip to the Dominican Republic. I've heard wonderful things about the island but I don't know anyone of size who's been. Has anyone been to the Dominican Republic? Is it a fat friendly place?

As of now we are looking to stay at Iberostar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata. The reviews I've read are almost all positive but I would feel more comfortable hearing it from some of my BBW, SSBBW, BHM, and FA friends.
