Recently my daughter said something that brought tears to my eyes....
I overheard her talking on the phone to a "potential suitor" and she says to him "Don't make fun of people like that" (pause) "because it's wrong to mock people".
Wow, did something I have been trying to teach her sink in?
Then today, I was talking to her about how some people assume that all heavy people are lazy, etc. and told her it simply wasn't true. She says "I know that after seeing the way you work and exercise all these years". I felt proud that my daughter knows not to buy into stereo-types- and even got a compliment out of the deal
Well, believe it or not, I didn't make this thread simply to brag about my daughter, but to actually make a place for us to post the things about the children/young adults in our lives that make us proud. Tell me something they did that made you smile, or even weep. Share pictures or share their accomplishments. It doesn't have to be a relative either- any child that you mentor or simply adore will do
