In a study of speed daters, fat men got just as many phone numbers as thin men. The only factors were height and age. For women, the story was different, of course.

So can we officially put an end to whining about how no women are attracted to BHM? The data are in, and this idea is out!!

Taller men and slimmer women have better chances of finding a date

London, Nov 19: Scientists have now found that when it comes to love, or rather attraction, size really does matter.
Academics from the University of Essex found that for every inch taller a man is than his "rivals" at speed-dating sessions, the number of women who want to meet him again increases by five per cent.
They also found that, surprisingly, being fat makes little difference to a man's success. However, weight – too much of it will sink a woman's hopes of success.
A woman who is clinically overweight, with a body-mass index (BMI) of more than 25, is selected by 70 per cent fewer men while women who are unhealthily thin, with an index of less than 18.5, are no more or less successful than women of normal weight.
The researchers, Michele Belot and Marco Francesconi, analysed the choices made by 1,800 men and 1,800 women at 84 speed-dating events across the country.
For both genders, being young is a big help. Each extra year of age, compared with others in the group, reduces a man's success by four per cent and a woman's by five per cent.
While the results sound like bad news for big women and short, ageing men, the researchers said their most significant finding was that any individual's success is relative to the strength or weakness of the opposition.
They say that men and women do not turn up at speed-dating events hoping to meet a certain "type" but judge each potential partner relative to others at the event. Thus, a man of average height will find that he makes a big impression with the women if his male rivals are all short. Among other findings, speed-dating smokers have little success other than with fellow smokers. Neither is being a "dumb blonde" a guarantee of success. Women with a university degree are 10 per cent more successful than those without. But, in general, men and women prefer people with a similar level of education to their own. (ANI)
