Please don't take this as an attack, but I want to know everyone's motivation behind writing a blog.
When I started to do it a few years ago, it was a way of release. I also liked the attention I gained on diaryland and had a little cult following (very little!). My boyfriend is of a different generation and doesn't understand the self confessional soapboxes of 21st century, where everything is public. In many ways, this is why I stopped writing on livejournal about a year and a half ago. I felt too exposed, too paranoid that the things I wrote would somehow haunt me in the future. I don't believe in being so reserved that you become a stranger to everyone. But personally I hate total transparency. One may say that if you don't emote, you don't live but sometimes holding back is good. I like a bit of mystery, the part of me that belongs to me and no one else (unless I encounter a telepath ).
