I think that I've been bitten by a spider and I don't know what kind and I am not for certain that it was a spider. I woke up a few days ago when i first noticed it. I had played outdoors with my cousins the day before. I also have hairy arms, but sorta doubt that an ingrown hair (which I have never had) would give me this much pain. The look of my arm shows redness in the circumference of about the size of a quarter with a head formed at the center and raised. The pain aches continuously and its hot to touch. I've never been bitten by a spider before. It aches even much further away from the redness.
I have not seen a doctor about this yet. But I was going to start taking keflex 3-4 times a day ...and I also found this remedy:
Brown recluse spider bite by l W.
My son was recently bitten on his bicep by a brown recluse. We did not realize this until a day or two later, when the wound was hot to the touch. We went to the doctor and received antibiotics. Then we went to the health food store. There they recommended a damp compress of powdered charcoal and meat tenderizer. Mix the powdered charcoal (1 teaspoon) and the meat tenderizer (1/2 teaspoon) make into a very thick paste. Place the mix on a bandage, cover the charcoal with a damp gauze. We did this procedure for approximately 1 week, twice a day. About 36 hours after the first application, the venom erupted out. It left a hole the diameter of a pencil eraser and very deep. We continued using the charcoal adding Neosporin to the wound. The wound healed from the inside out, eventually becoming a purplish blemish. That was 5 months ago, there now remains a circular skin toned blemish, not a scar. The doctor was amazed at the results and so were we.
Now, I don't know if it was a spider or what kind of spider it might've been even if for certain other people could identify by the looks of my arm.
I was wondering if anyone might have some helpful suggestions for cleaning, treating, and overall taking care and promoting healing of my affected arm?
Thanks, swamptoad (Jeff)
