In the thread of things we wish to do before we die, there is a kind of dreaminess. I read these items with a mixture of thoughts.
Most significantly, it made me realize that I have done many of the things others dream of.
I am sure many of us have.
One man's ceiling is another one's floor.
When I was 19, my sweetie was a lovely french fellow. His sister was living in southern France. I went with him to Montpelier, a little town near the Spanish border for her wedding. We made a little vacation out of it, having arrived a couple days early from where we were living in Paris.
One evening, he and I rode a horse on the beach at sunset before finding a spot to make love. At first, we were bathed in an awesome warm pinky hued light, under the most incredible sky and then after some wine, we were making love under the stars, occasionally going for a little swim. We were in no hurry, the horse didn't need anything, and we just enjoyed the place and one another.
All these years later, details about the wedding and what I wore have faded completely. I cannot remember much about it at all, or even what the sister's new hubby was like. I can recall intimate details about the bed & breakfast where we stayed and what we did there without any difficulty at all.
Hmmm go figure.
