So, I am writing through town wearing my suit. It is a mild day. Two people who looked like they might have recently been in residence at the cold-weather shelter stop at a corner to say hello to me and then they invite me to have lunch with them. Since I have just eaten I tell them I have just eaten and decline. They head for the restaurant and I start down the road. Then I start to think, "Perhaps they thought that the reason I did not want to eat with them was that I thought I was too good for them" I turned my tricycle around and went back to the restaurant. I went into the restaurant and told them that I changed my mind and would be happy to eat with them. They said that they had decided to eat takeout instead of eating in the restaurant. About that time the store owner came out to the front lobby where we were standing. At this point one of the two men introduced me and explained that I was Russell Williams, I was his friend, and I had been a member of the Board of Education and that I could have anything I wanted for lunch and that he would pay for it. I chose crab soup with a glass of water. Then they left and I went into the dining room and ate my crab soup while feeling very embarrassed about the whole situation.
