Sherry Collins Eckert in Hospice Care/How we can help Don and Sherry ;-)
As Sherry's friend Nancy (sscurves) posted below, Sherry Eckert was taken to the hospital and is now in hospice care.
Sherry has been a long time NAAFAn, staunch supporter of anti-diet/anti WLS and a wealth of health information for people of size. For many years, Sherry was the Editor and Coordinator of the Supersize SIG where she used her experiences and medical knowledge with everyone. Don has volunteered as the NAAFA convention photographer for decades! We love and admire them both and now it is our time to help them!
A dear friend of mine and The Eckert's, Phyllis Warr has made the wonderful suggestion for those of us that want to help. "Those that may wish to send a supportive card ...perhaps might want to consider a contribution to Sherry's medical expenses. While Sherry and Don are very wealthy people when it comes to love, unfortunately-like most of us-they are not wealthy when it comes to the money with which hospitals and doctors want to be compensated. Therefore, we all might consider sending a check instead of flowers to their house or the hospital."
Whether you send a card containing warm thoughts or something more concrete, you can reach Sherry and Don at 5306 Heege, St. Louis, MO 63123. I am certain they will appreciate whatever their friends and NAAFA family do for them.
Let's all send them our peace and light tonight and in the days ahead.
Hugs,
David and Kara Brewer Allen
