Am I the only one who's verklempt about this? I've been watching her send off, getting misty-eyed about the whole thing. The Today Show has been part of our family's mornings since my kids were tiny. I've always admired her spunk, her tenacity, her tenderness and her ability to use tragedy (the loss of her husband) to help others.
I'll certainly miss her, although I definitely plan on tuning in to CBS to watch her there. I seldom watch the evening news (just the occasional CNN or MSNBC piece) but I'll make an exception for such an exceptional woman.
I feel silly getting all sniffly about this, but it's been so lovely watching people feting her. I think it's a good reminder to share gratitude and our admiration for people before they leave.
Yeah, I'm a sappy sad sack this morning. I just hate goodbyes.
