I'm wondering would anyone here be familiar with Scottish and Irish football songs?

I happened to live in Ireland during and after the 1990 World Cup and of course I got the full dose of olé-olé, Jacky's Army and The Boys in Green and I've been very familiar with this song since:

Put Em Under Pressure

for 18 years now I thought this to be the Irish football supporters anthem ...

until this evening - I was listening to the "Polka Radio" on lastfm in hoping to find a few rare gems to revive the petered out Polka thread a good number of pages down - I was astounded to hit upon a track "Andy Cameron - Ally's tartan army" (poor qualitiy utube version)

It mentions "Argentine/Argentina". So does this go back to the World Cup 1978 in Argentina? Did the Scottish version precede the Irish one, i.e. the Irish copy this tune? What original tune (Irish/Scottish traditional?) does this go back to? And who is Ally?
