Inspired by the Spam Casserole thread, and CurvyEm's question about Scrapple...I present:
SCRAPPLE!! MMMmmmMMM!!!
What is it? It's pork (scraps) and cornmeal "mush" with spices, formed into a loaf. It is sold in blocks, and you slice it and fry it in a pan till crispy. It is HEAVENLY!
To me, it tastes like a combination of sausage and cornbread, but with more spice.
Some people slice it thick, and leave the insides soft and creamy. Not me - I like thin slices and crispy golden brown!
Also, some people put maple syrup on it. Not me. I like it plain.
Here is a pic of Scrapple and eggs and you can see - maple syrup. Shocking!
