I decided to make a new post as a follow up to my earlier post many weeks ago about the new Butterick sewing patterns which go up to a true 6x-42-44w rather than add this to the sewing pictures thread so as to highlight these larger patterns which may be of special interst to many here.

Below is the pattern I sewed for my wife Kathleen.

Below is a picture of the finished dress with my wife Kathleen modeling it at a recent wedding we attended.

The pattern was made in the 2x (26-28W) size. these patterns seem to be better sized for larger women as I did not have to make as many alterations to size the pattern for Kathleen as I usually do with other patterns. For example with many patterns I have to reduce the width of the sholders from arm pit to arm pit. Not with these patterns. This pattern does the shoulders and neckline so that it fits larger women better than other patterns. The Connie Crawford Patterns seem to be better cut for the larger woman than other patterns, even other Butterick larger sized patterns. I hope Connie Crawford increases the selection of patterns she offers.

If you have sewn any of the Connie Crawford Patterns please share your impressions.

Paul.
