Hi guys,
I have a question. I'm a relatively heavy (size 18-20) girl and since I'm a poor college student, I really can't afford to buy new clothes every time I grow out of something. Therefore, every chance I get, I invest in a little shape wear. Currently, I have 6 pieces and I really enjoy looking through sales and clearance racks to always add something new. 9 times out of 10, they are cheaper then new clothes and they let me hang on to clothes longer, hence saving me money in the long run.
My bf doesn't agree though. He claims that it shifts and breaks ribs (?), that it takes away from me being a BBW, and that generally, they're just not good for me. He's even gone as far as to steal it, which really upsets me because then I don't know where they are, and I paid good money for them.
I, however, feel comfortable, sometimes sexy, and feminine when I wear them. I know that my best features are being their best and my worst features are hidden. I'm happy that I've saved money on buying clothes, and since you can't make fat disappear on command, I still know that it's there, just that it looks more flattering. I have also never had the shape wear hurt me.
I have 2 questions: First off, is wearing shapewear ever going to physically hurt me?
and
If not, how do I manage to explain it to him so that he understands (I've tried many times but his mind isn't changed; sometimes he just doesn't listen to reason...grr)
Here is what I have:
