I suppose people don't write poetry to store it away never to be read lol. I usually only write poetry when I'm in a dark place (just call me Melissa Allan Poe lol). Poetry can be highly therapeutic though. Sometimes ya just need to get it out.
So please share your poetry. Or other people's poetry that has really touched you for that matter. This thread can be all things poetry lol.
Here's one of mine that I wrote a long while back. It was a particularly dark moment in my life (obviously lol).
Alone
Sorrow fills my soul.
The chill of solitude,
Has settled in my bones.
I live within a dark, dank dungeon,
Of my own creation, my own being.
Even still, I thrive as I slowly die.
Who would choose,
such an existence?
To be .....Isolated.
Filled with....Terror.
Then again...Peaceful.
Safe in....Habit.
