So there's been some discussion of the movie, Shortbus, by John Cameron Mitchell of Hedwig and the Angry Inch fame. Especially because our very own The Obstreperous Ms. J makes an appearance.
What did folks think about it? If you already loved Mitchell and Hedwig and are firmly in the camp that exaults him as a cult classic god, did Shortbus live up?
If it was your first time--heh--what did you think of it?
My short take:
I caught it this weekend and totally loved it. It will definately be on the short list of movies I'd like to own. I liked the stories and the characters. I felt them, and that was a nice surprise. The sex that all the reviewers talked about was there, but that really wasn't what the movie was about. It was about the people. Oh, joy! *clasps hands in happiness!*
