Okay, so I wouldn't be caught dead calling it a 'skop' or 'skess' in public (beyond Dim)...
Have you ever tried wearing a skirt as a strapless top or dress? It works! Just take an a-line skirt and hike it up over your bustline. Longer skirts work great as a dress, and shorter skirts make perfect tunic-length tops over leggings. Wear a strapless bra underneath (or, a bra with pretty straps), and you've got a whole new look. Blousey, but not "oh! when are you due??"- loose. Comfy, too! Perfect for warm weather wear. Too arm-revealing for you? Wear a cute lil shrug over it.
Also - depending on the skirt, you can even wear a shirt underneath... gives it a look reminiscent of empire dresses, but baby-doll-ish too, only... niftier. Try a tee with a scoop neck, or even a white button-down with a stand up collar. Nothing is off-limits.
