Ok - I bought a new blender - not a smoothie maker - and I want to make smoothies but have a few questions...

Do I have to use a dairy product like milk, ice cream, yogurt etc in order to make one? If I don't and just use fruit, ice and punch or juice, will it just end up being cold juice with fruit in it?

If I DO use a dairy product as stated above, typically, how long do I have to drink it until it seperates and I have little ice chunks on top and just cold beverage on the bottom - know what I mean? I want to be able to make one at home and bring it to work in the morning...

Sorry for the dumb questions - but I'm a virgin smoothiemaker!
