So....I know it has been a while since I actually got back from my trip, lol....I procrastinate...a lot...but I wanted to share my experience of flying.

It was stressful as all hell. Mike was to meet me at Salt Lake International to catch a flight to LAX together. Well....this was August 10. Do you remember August 10??? Yes. Terrorist arrested at the airport Mike was to fly out of. It was a complicated day of texts from him letting me know which flights he had missed and when he should be where. It was very scary to say the least.

He called me from Heathrow to let me know he wouldnt have his phone and that he loved me. I knew then that something was wrong. After checking yahoo news on my phone every 2 seconds, I had a terror filled night of crying, sleeping for 5 minutes and waking up bawling my eyes out.

He was one of only a couple of flights that left that day. Thankfully. And thankfully he was safe.

When he finally landed in SLC...he was late..his plane was a few hours late..which almost made us miss our flight...which was the last flight out of LAX.

Our flight was delayed...thankfully! We checked our baggage and the lady at the desk was very nice and told me without even me asking that I could preboard. Everyone at check in was very nice and kind.

Boarding the plane. We were the first or second people on the plane. They let Mike preboard with me:) We snagged the first row since there is more belly room. Inbetween rows woulda been hella cramped for me. The staff was very nice, never condencending (sp? lol). The flight to LAX was like being in first class. The flight attendants offered us drink upon drink upon drink. I had 2 Dr Peppers and 2 waters and mike had 2 cans of coke...on SOUTHWEST, lol

We got to LAX, which seemed to be an INSANE amount of walking for my fat legs, but I did it...all tired from not having sleep and then driving 6 hours to SLC.

The return. The return flight was a little less relaxed. Some people do not listen to their girlfriends when they should, but Im not talking about anyone in particlar:rolleyes: The staff was still very friendly and accomidating. It was like 6 in the morning....I wouldnt have noticed if they were rude I dont think, lol. We flew from LAX to Las Vegas. Las Vegas had the least friendly staff but they were still very friendly and I had no problems getting my needs met. Except that some people who use wheelchairs do not need them and they get to board before people who really need to [/end rant]

SO my only advice would be...get there in plenty of time to go through security...as you will have to take off your shoes AND put them back on, lol. If you cant walk long distances....get a wheelchair!! They let you on the plane FIRST!!!!!! Even before preboarders. Next time, I will get a wheel chair...unless I have lost weight by then.

Flying was fun. I forgot how much I missed getting out and seeing the world.

Oh yeah...I did buy two seats. no doubt in my mind that I needed them. It was nice...gave us hella room to cuddle too...and on two of the flights we were given info on how to get a refund on the extra seat since it wasnt full.

Southwest may have been the evil enemy before, but they are the ONLY airline to offer refunds when a flight is not full. I have browsed others policies and talked to their reps and they were rather smug.."if you need to seats then you buy two seats. no refund."

My stats: 5'10", big bellied (obviously!) 550 at the time, and it was fine=)
