Spreading the word about NAAFA.
Louise and I play weekly in a trivia contest called Pourhouse Trivia. Each week somewhere between 40 and 60 people play in teams of anywhere from 1 to 7. The team that wins each week gets $50 off of their next restaurant bill and gets to choose the first category for the following week's game.
Tonight the team I was on won the contest and got to choose the opening category for the following week. I was able to convince my teammates, one of whom was Louise, to choose NAAFA as the opening category next week. It took a while to convince both my team mates and the director of the contest that NAAFA was a real organization with a nationwide membership. Finally I did and the announcement was made that next week the opening category, which everybody should study up on, was the National Association for the Advancement of Fat Acceptance or NAAFA.
Now Louise and I have to review and also study up on recent events within NAAFA. We would hate to miss a question about NAAFA. I am reasonably certain that at this particular moment Louise and I know more about NAAFA than anybody else in the room did.
It is my fond hope that the opening question will be, "Who wrote the Declaration of Fat Independence?"
