Okay, so since the winter of '78 we don't really have storms in the northeast where you get trapped in your house. But we have a mentality up in these parts that it's bound to happen, and you'd better hit the store.
I'm not kidding, if it's over 4 inches of snow in the forcast (even though we're completely used to that and much more) people flock to the store and buy all the water and bread they can get their hands on.
So, being one of the flock, I went shopping tonight on my way home. I do it because I want to be "want-less" while I'm snuggled up inside. Nothing sucks worse than being stuck at home and wishing you had "x". (I'm now under a blizzard watch, starting tomorrow night).
I went for milk, bread, and a kielbasa.
I bought: garlic mashed potatoes, chicken broth, chips, corn chowder, Tostitos Gold (so good!), Butterscotch Blast ice cream, a gallon of milk, brownies, tiny frosted sugar cookies, kielbasa, peanut butter Hershey Kisses (new, figured I'd try 'em), and two kinds of bread.
Soooo, my question is... what do you usually want to stock up on - either sustaining life or because it's fun - when a storm's a brewin'?
