Drove to Big Sur over the weekend to see my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend play drums for a blues band. It was at this stunningly gorgeous hippie yoga hot springs retreat called Ethelan. Threw all modesty to the wind and got naked with a bunch of naturalists and found myself in a hot springs tub with my girlfriend and one other woman.
Fifteen minutes later legendary folk singer Joan Baez gets into my tub.
That's the surreal part.
It was definitely her because she was performing at this event. She stayed in the tub for about ten minutes and then left for a cooler tub. Intimate encounter since the tub was meant for no more than four people. In this particular section of the springs no one was allowed to speak which might explain why Ms. Baez chose that section. So no, don't ask if we all broke out in an inpromptu "Cumbaya".
PS: My sweetheart is so cool. She may have physically been the biggest woman at this event but, regardless, she couldn't wait to don her clothes to immerse herself in the sacred spring waters. We were both thrilled to see so many other larger free-spirited women uninhibited enough to let the sun and the water kiss their nakedness.
And to the fellahs from the Weight Board, I do *NOT* have any pics of the event to share here on this board.
