Last night Australia celebrated the 31st annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The march started out in 1978 as a protest against Homophobia.
A very diverse range of groups from within the gay community march in the prade. Gay and straight police also march.
It is an incredible celebration, and people from all over the world come to Sydney to particate, or as view the parade as spectators.
If you are ever in Sydney in March there is a month long Gay and lesbian, festival which culminates with the Mardi Gras.
Here is some film of last year's parade. The 2009 vids are not really up on YouTube as yet.
