I've always known that the texture of a food is really important as to whether I like it or not. For instance, lima beans, butter beans and kidney beans are totally gaggy to me, mostly because of the mushy, livery texture inside the bean. Liver tastes like crap, but the texture is even worse than the taste.

On the other hand, steel cut oatmeal (which I discovered this summer), just a little undercooked, is heaven, with it's nutty, grainy texture. I also like Cream of Wheat because of the texture - smooth but kinda not. And Haagen Dasz chocolate ice cream is wonderfully smooth on the tongue.

What foods give you a texture buzz?
