Friends,

I think this is a good time to thank our family members (dead & alive) who have given so much for us in our wars. I know also that some of our members live in other countries and they have also had kin that sacrificed themselves during wartime. Whether they agree with the causes or not, many times our fathers, brothers, sisters, and mothers were drawn into such conflicts. Many lost their lives or came back from the wars changed or damaged forever.

In my family:
- My husband is a Vietnam Veteran - when he returned home they were not treated well by our country.
- My father fought in WWII - he lost most of his hearing firing artillery.
- His brother fought in WWII.
- My grandfather fought and was wounded in WWI by mustard gas.
- Two of my mother's brothers fought in Korea - they were wounded mentally and physically.
- Another uncle was fighter pilot Jimmy Doolittle in WWII.
- I also have other cousins who served in the Vietnam conflict.

Also add their mothers, wives and sweethearts, women who in their hearts, served with them. These women shed many a tear over their men. The women are just as much veterans in my book as the men are. I thank them all.
