Grim Grinning Ghosts
I know there are a lot of gamers here, so I figured a lot of people would be able to relate to this. For the non gamers, please forgive my little rant. But this has been irritating me for sometime now.
Fanboys, you hate 'em. You know I hate 'em. Fanboys the ever present embarrassing thorn in the side of real gamers everywhere.
Fanboys, you know, those douche bags that use terms like pwn3d. The people that make all gamers look bad. The people that cling to one company with such blind irrational fanaticism that it equals religious fervor. The people that see the console "war" as an actual war.
I am a multi-console gamer and lurk at a variety of forums. In my opinion the worse fanboys (yes, even by fanboy standards) are definitely in the Sony camp as of late. These people worship Sony as a God and hate (yes, actually seem to hate) any other game console or manufacturer.
Not too say that Nintendo and Microsoft don't have their share of fanboys. They obviously do. But for example, I've noticed if someone says something overly fanboyish on the xbox.com forums, people generally come down on them pretty hard. Xbox gamers are also much more like to be critical of Microsoft than say Sony gamers are of Sony.
There's also the stupid forum wars the fanboys initiate. Again, the Sony fanboys being the worst of the bunch. Sony fanboys are constantly spamming other forums with stupidity. Of course XBOX and Nintendo fans are known to do this too. But not to the sheer annoying near constant frequency of the Sony fanboys. When the Xbox360 launched the xbox.com forums were literally flooded with Sony fanboys hysterically bashing the system and spreading disinformation.
Don't take this is bashing Sony. I hate fanboys. All fanboys. Sony fanboys just happen to be the worst of the lot lately in my experience.
Anyhow, my advice to fanboys is stop harassing other gamers and go buy another system. You are missing out on a heck of a lot amazing games by hating other systems.
