A lot of WoW lingo that some folks probably won't quite get, but... it's been asked that I post this. So here it is- a brief tale about the battle that happened last night in World of Warcraft.

HELPFUL MAP

The following is posted exactly as it was on the WoW forums; and yes, this is my work.

This is a retelling of the match in Alterac Valley that happened last night. It's a bit of a dramatic retelling, and I took a couple liberties with it, but it's mostly accurate. It's from the point of view of a Horde member (myself), and depicts a Horde victory in the Alliance-favored Alterac Valley.

The Horde forces rushed forward form the cave, most of us, and pressed Stonehearth Bunker and Graveyard. These places we met some resistance, and were held for some time, but we forced our way through in the end. It was actually I, Klaznok, who performed the capture on Stonehearth Graveyard itself, cutting off the Alliance's spawn point there.

Once the Stonehearth Graveyard was under Horde control, a group of just over a half dozen trekked southwest to Stonehearth Outpost, where we swiftly took down Captain Balinda Stonehearth with relative ease. At this time as well, Wing Commander Jeztor was released from her captivity and began to run back to Frostwolf Keep. Additionally, Horde Captain Galvingar was assaulted in the Iceblood Garrison, but that attack was quickly repelled and Galvangar survived the remainder of the battle.

With the southern and central regions basically under Horde control, our forces moved further northward, demolishing Icewing Bunker and pushing forth to the Stormpike Graveyard, which was quickly captured. From here, we battled on the bridge. Many fell, from both factions, and before long, the entire span was covered in skeletons. Nevertheless, the Alliance forces were pushed back, and Horde forces moved in to take the Dun Baldar bunkers, releasing Wing Commander Mulverick in the process. These forces were repelled, and the Horde was pushed back to the bridge again, and rallied at the Stormpike Graveyard to begin another assult.

Back and forth the forces went, brawling on that bridge. Neither side gained ground. Swords clashed against shields; searing orbs of flame struck foes; the beserker shout of Orcish warriors echoed in the chasm below. An hour had passed since the Battle of Alterac Valley began, and it seemed that a stalemate had been reached at the brige to Dun Baldar. Primalist Thurloga had been slain while attemping to summon Lokholar the Ice Lord; the Alliance's Druids had fallen to the Horde while they tried to summon the Forest Lord, Ivus.

Then, a screech sounded from the skies- War Riders! Wing Commanders Mulverick and Jeztor showed no mercy, raining fire upon the Alliance. Using this to our advantage, we fiercely charged into Dun Baldar, taking the two bunkers with and then the Stormpike Aid Station. With no place left to spawn, the Alliance forces attempted a valiant last-ditch assault on our base in the south, taking graveyards along the way, but it was too late; at this point, the Horde had already won the day.

The final melee lasted for a short time, as the Alliance Marshalls were slain; then, at last, we penetrated the final garrison, and swarmed General Vanndar Stormpike with dozens of our warriors, wearing him down with ease. Finally, after an hour and a half of bloodshed in Alterac Valley, he was slain.

Many of the Horde soldiers had earned Exalted status with the Frostwolf Tribe during this long battle, and it was agreed unanimously that it was undoubtedly the best way to go out. Quite a few, realizing that we were on the cusp of victory, remained in the Valley and fought long after they had achieved the highest reputation possible, and to those brave warriors, I give my thanks.

All Horde and Alliance soldiers fought bravely and died with honor, and all are deserving of the utmost respect. It was a most glorious battle, an epic struggle between two powerful armies, and the tale is certainly one worth telling.

May the eternal sun shine upon thee,
Klaznok

PS: Okay, this was written almost a full day after the match occurred, so I know that some stuff is probably a bit off. The biggest discrepancy that I can recall is that the War Riders were present for the whole while at Dun Baldar, instead of being the asset that allowed the Horde to advance into the base. Although they were a boon, it was more the constant pressure that pushed the Alliance back than anything else. Other than that, it's fairly accurate.
