There is a local restaurant chain, Marie Calender's that makes a tall cornbread cake that is served after you've ordered, before your entrees arrive. I practically go there just for the cornbread. I stumbled upon a recipe that is very close to the original Marie recipe. (I thought I posted this here before)
Preheat oven to 350.
Stir together in a mixing bowl (DO NOT USE MIXER): 2 eggs (beaten), 1 cup milk, 1 cube butter (melted), 1/2 teas. baking powder, 2 cups Bisquick, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup cornmeal.
Pour into a greased 9x9 pan. Bake 30 minutes.
