I'm placing it on this board because the focus of the article is on the populist appeal of the couple's appetites. Apparently, the country is watching what the Obamas eat. Remember how people loved to watch Bubba eat cheeseburgers?
One New York Times food critic even wants to fatten the Obamas right up, evidently:
"Isn't the very predictability of this choice [of the Obamas' choice of restaurant] ... ever so slightly disappointing?" wrote New York Times restaurant critic Frank Bruni. It would have been fun, he added, to see the Obamas 'reach for something rich, messy, decadent, gluttonous.' "
