people will say that we should only focus on the victims. but, if we aren't realistic and focus on the politics and victimizers as well we'll be holding prayer vigils again soon. please don't disrespect victims by using it as an excuse to keep our heads in the sand. ask the parents of the sandy hook shooting what they think about that. they should have been allowed to grieve but since many of the rest of us were so complacent about doing something they've had to fight something that we should have taken care of for them while they grieved. they should never have had to speak in washington or face those crass people ever. but they had to do our job for us.
what do we really have now to honor the sand hook victims? mainly a national embarrassment and a cheapening of the value of their lives to favor an industry rather than their humanity even against the wishes of most americans. i want to challenge people to honor the victims in boston by making sure this never goes unaddressed so that the victims should never have to get involved while they should be left to heal. let's stop using the victims as an excuse to be complacent and compassionately opt out. lets be active and protect them by paying close attention to everything for them and making sure that the appropriate things happen and the best choices are made. lets be strong for them. sometimes condolences are not enough. if you really care prove it to them. it's never ever too soon to stop bad things from happening again. let's not allow them to feel that their loved ones died in vain or that those alive suffer in vain. let's begin the hard work of thinking about this for them. lets keep a chronical of what info we hear and what history we know or find out.
what do you think happened so we can hash through this thing together for them. do you think where they came from is really an issue or are they truly american kids? if they aren't what happened to them while they were here living in a very liberal environment -- or is it? if we feel they are basically really american kids why do you think they were so dissatisfied--if they were.
