i officially take back my skepticism of mo'nique. everybody, quick...pick up the july 21st issue of entertainment weekly and flip to the last page, a fantastic interview with mo'nique with the interviewer laughing with her about fat rather than at it, complete with an open invite to hugh hefner to photograph her and a bold description of true fatness and what it represents; she mentions her "double belly," "fat neck," etc, and that all the fat women she knows are content and smiling-happy because they have food in their tummies. i've never read something so candid and descriptive about fat in a mainstream publication. i'm officially sorry for thinking her as another hollywood bbw who claims to be fat-positive then loses a bunch of weight (like missy elliott and queen latifah, both of whom are hardly sellouts in my book even so).
