When I shop online for groceries (Safeway and Albertsons deliver here), I'm a fantasy food shopper. On my first round through the departments, I throw all kinds of stuff in my "cart," that sound good, then I go back and narrow it down to just the stuff I want.

Friday I placed an order for delivery today. Mostly what I needed were items for a casual dinner for some friends who are coming over tomorrow, and big stuff like cat litter and bottled water. Except instead of putting those items on my list first, I started with fun stuff: ice cream. In fact, I went kind of crazy because I couldn't decide what I wanted. Then I got interrupted, so I went ahead and placed the order knowing I would come back and edit it.

Very early this morning I did go back and edit it. Added in the dinner items I needed and took out all but one ice cream item (a box of cones). It was about 5am when I finished, but that's not a problem because you just have to finish by 9:30am. I thought. When I clicked submit though, I got a "sorry, too late to change your order" message.

So now in my freezer I have 4 boxes of ice cream bars, a big box of ice cream sandwiches, 2 pints of Ben and Jerry's, 1 pint of Haagen Daz, 1 box of Dove bite-size things, and 4 boxes of cones, including one jumbo pack. And no dinner stuff. Oh, and a pie I didn't really want. I guess there are worse tragedies. :D

Fortunately I have coupon codes for free delivery because it looks like I'll be making another order today to get the dinner stuff for tomorrow. I was going to make a cobbler for dessert, but now I think I'm just going to serve ice cream lol.
