I'm so happy about it, but disgusted at the same time. After 18 years of wrongful incarceration, AR offers them the Alford Plea bargain. To me, it just further shows guilt on behalf of AR in all of this. The bargain allows them to maintain their claim of innocence, but had to plea guilty for the charges. Why, after all this time? With the recent DNA evidentiary hearing which could have resulted ina retrial pending decision in December, I believe it was to be, did this offer come up out of the blue?
At any rate, I can't blame them for taking the plea vs taking the chance, as small as it could've been, of being found guilty, again. Fool me once, I reckon.
But they are out, and that's what I'm happy about. While justice still hasn't prevailed, at least these 3 may have a chance to actually live. Think of all they've missed!
