With all the eye injury and Starbucks stuff going on in my life lately, I wasn't able to tell you folks about something really wonderful that has happened.

You know we're trying to sell our hs in NJ and move back to PA in a few months. Well, this hs is a fixer upper, needs cosmetic work (but is in great shape otherwise.) For various reasons (such as my plantar), I'm unable to spend too much time on my feet doing gardening, lawn work, painting, etc to fix the place up. My husband works 2 hrs away so he's not much help either.

Anyway, I was using Freecycle to get rid of excess clutter around here....as a non-driver it works great for me because they come to me to get the stuff, I don't have to drop it off to thrift shops, etc.

I met a few friends over Freecycle, and when they found out the situation I was in, several of them came over to my hs, cleaned out the garage, loaded the boxes of books, CDs, other clutter, etc in there, did all my yardwork and fixed the front of the hs so it looks fantastic, and this weekend they are painting the hs too!

I repeatedly offered them money for the work they did/are doing, but they won't take it (and one of the ladies is a professional landscaper!) They all said that the stuff we gave them is payment enough. One woman's car had broken down and since she was on disability, she couldnt afford to get it fixed. We gave her an old car we had that had been my uncles, and frankly, she did US a favor by taking it...but she saw it quite the other way.

So you see? There REALLY ARE some very wonderful people out there!
