I know this topic has floated around here and there based on certain individuals, but wanted to open up to the general audience. Basically three questions:
  1. Post a pic of your tattoos (if too many to show, list your faves)
  2. When did you get them? What prompted it or how did you decide on that particular art? Do you plan on getting more?
  3. Where did you get them? Did you choose one artist or shop? Were you ever in one of the TV series shop like H&H?
I'm curious as to the art of everyone in our group. Sorry to those who may have posted theirs already.

As for me:

The Superman shield is a composite of a tattoo I first saw many years ago (Based on the Shield character from the comics) and a t-shirt I own. Wanted something a little different than the traditional red and yellow shield. Got it about 18 months ago and it was my first one (upper left arm).

The second was an early Father's Day present this year. This is my favorite Calvin and Hobbes picture, with a list of my boys and their birthdates (upper right arm). Not sure if I want more, but I had a couple ideas:

- Something Egyptian beyond the typical Eye of Horus tat. If I was really brave or wanted to toss out a ton of money, I'd look at doing a reproduction of the Judgement relief from the Book of the Dead for Scribe Ani, where Anubis weighs the heart of the dead against a feather, while Thoth records the event and the devourer of souls looks on.

- My artist specializes in black/shaded tattoos, and I would love to get a Calvin and Hobbes Tracer Bullet rendition, since it was one of the more unique characters drawn by Bill Watterson.

I have only used one artist, a very talented young man named Trevis near my hometown in southern Illinois, and he's won awards at many St. Louis conventions. Relatives of mine have had bad ones done (either bad fills, too deep or just overall poor artistry) and there is nothing worse than an inking gone wrong.
