Butterbelly
Melting in the desert
A couple days ago on the local news here, there was a story about four men who had been arrested in the kidnapping and murder of a former college basketball player. The first news story just listed the names of those being charged, but didn't show any pictures.
The next night on the news, the pictures of the four men appeared on the news along side the picture of the victim. I immediately recognized one of the men being charged...he happened to be a former neighbor of mine.
I wasn't shocked to see this the old neighbor's picture splashed across the screen. My old roommate and I had called the cops on this guy and his roommate on numerous occasions because of fights, gun shots, throwing glass bottles on people's cars, and threatening to cause bodily harm to my roommate and I. They were finally kicked out of their apartment after threatening the landlord. It took almost six months to get the landlord to believe my roommate and I...and finally when another neighbor stepped up and told the landlord the same things did the landlord confront the two men.
Sometimes you don't realize how in danger you are.
Here is the story posted in the local paper for anyone interested in reading about it. (Aaron Graham was my former neighbor).
