Dimensions' loiterer
A really minor quibble here--I'm liking the new boards and loving how it has rejuvenated the community. Thank you again for caring and taking care of us all Conrad! This is just a small piece of feedback, a 'how it could be even better for me, if it is reasonable to do something about it next time you are playing with things.'
I am constantly getting logged off the boards, because I'm most often reading and replying from work during short breaks. Typically I might read a thread, decide that I want to reply, hit reply, maybe start writing, then get a phone call or have to head to a meeting or decide I want to think bout the reply so start doing something else, or whatever, then when I do complete the reply it gets eaten because I have been automatically logged off.
So my question is can the default log off period be extended somewhat without causing other problems? That is, does having people logged in but inactive have a bandwidth/max users/something else cost associated to it?
I agree that there should be an auto-log off function, but could it be set to maybe an hour or two? I'm not sure what it is now, but I'm guessing something in the 15-30 minute range.
