What's your favorite cooking toy? The thing you cannot live without when it comes to cooking real food.
(And conversely, what kitchen gadget did you get that you just haven't used as much as you thought you would).
I'll start. My favorite cooking tool is my wok (followed closely by my rice cooker). I can stir fry, steam, reheat, and since it's well seasoned it's a snap to clean up. I also love my rice cooker because I can't otherwise cook rice at ALL; the few times I've tried on the stove it was a disaster, probably because I have no impulse control and am forever taking the lid off the pan (I know, I know). My rice cooker always makes rice perfectly -- even the crazy rice concoctions I throw together. It makes brown rice, white rice, wild rice, rice pilaf, and even steams veggies. It rocks.
My George Foreman grill? Not so much. I seem to have gotten the sticky non-stick version because everything -- even greasy sausages -- sticks to it. I hate it, and so it gathers dust in the back of my pantry. Did I just get a dud or something?
