I was born in the family of fans of sci-fi shows
My mama watched them all, she was in the know
Papa would watch whatever he could
Watch a little Star Trek, then talk about episodes of Doctor Who

Trekkers, nerds and dweebs.
We’d hear them all yelling through the convention hall
They’d call us Trekkers, nerds and dweebs
But every toy show the dealers would all gather around
When we lay our money down

Picked up a toy just south of mobile
Wasn’t mint on card, not really a big deal
I paid sixteen, it was worth twenty one
Traded it at the next show in Memphis
Dealer would have shot me if he knew what I’d done.
