Wow, today I had a wake up call from my body.
When I first moved to Brooklyn, I hated my treck to the subway.
One block uphill and Seven flat blocks.
It was difficult, but I managed.
When I re-injured my back, I despised my treck to the subway.
One block uphill and One flat block.
Then I waited for a bus for 15-30 minutes to take me the other Six blocks.
Then the subway itself.
85% Assurance there would never be a seat.
Standing, holding myself against the door or a wall for 30 minutes
while the train whipped my back around like a blender.
One to Two flights of stairs, and then Three blocks of walking.
When my leg started hurting last Fall, I began to take car service.
Thousands of dollars later, I'm still at it.
Today, I headed back to my old routine, by bus.
I am so sore, and exhausted.
Which to me, means that my body is in total denial of any exertion.
My thought process has changed, because I immediately respond with negativity concerning any exercise.
So, last week I went out of my comfort zone and took a Belly Dancing class with Big Moves, and had a BLAST!
I'm trying to change...
I'd love to take a swim class or something... ???
Something's gotta give!
