I understand that this is the Weight Board which is for the discussion of erotic weight gain and fantasy issues.

First, let me state that I have no objections to the Weight Board being part of Dimensions, for I feel that it does serve a purpose.

I recently responded to a post which then lead to a discussion, or sharing of personal views between another board member and myself. I attempted to explain my views and the motivation for my response. It has got me to thinking about an issue which irks me at times.

I have lived my life and currently live my life daily in the body of an extremely fat SSBBW. See, the life I live daily is a real life, and not some fantasy conjured up in the mind of fat admirers.

Maybe it would just be easier to post portions of what I attempted to express to the other person. :)

"My post was sincere. There was nothing insincere about it. I was actually trying to stand up for, or defend, the fat women that he was hoping to humiliate or embarrass in order to get his jollies.

There is a difference between a fantasy or someone's curiosity and attempting to riducule, humiliate, or make a fat person feel uncomfortable or feel like a freak. I believe we each face those negative situations enough in real life, and we should be free from such here at Dimensions. There should be some point in which a fat person's right to dignity is given more respect than the right of a person to post fantasies or observations, or pose questions that do nothing except to degrade or humiliate.

Sometimes it seems like males can post anything here, and the fat women who are the subjects or objectification of the posts should be grateful for any type of attention paid to fat women, even attention that has its roots in the humiliation aspect that fat people endure.

That is very sad.

:( "

I know that I can't be the only female who feels like that (this). I've been coming to Dimensions for over seven years now, and sometimes it just seems like the mentality of some has not matured or evolved one bit. Sometimes it feels like the fat people are not treated as equals in a supposedly size accepting arena, and that we are just seen as something to objectify or as a subject of self gratification for others.

I do understand the the origins of Dimensions was as a publication *for* men. Even with mainstrem men's publications, there always seems to be a silent rank and order, the male dominated publishing world and viewership and then the women who are worshipped.

I guess I was just hoping that the women here will be seen as more than just pretty sexy fat 'bunnies' to fantasize about.

For BBW or for BHM, do you feel like you are basically only viewed as fantasy material at times? Do you sometimes feel like the realities you face in your daily life are not what matter to admireres here?

For FAs or for FFAs, do you view each fat persona or poster as an individual and real human, or do you view them as an extention of, or accessory to, or possible participant in your fantasies or fantasy life. Do you even want to know posters as real individuals or do you consciously choose to and want to keep things here, and your activity here, on a purely fantasy or secret level?

Someone make a poll! ;)
