Hi everyone!

So on Saturday Gottfried (formerking) and I were sitting in Wet Willie's on Beale St. in Memphis with large "Call a Cab" beverages in front of us. We'd yet to begin consumption (and there was a LOT of consumption that day) when we decided there would likely not be a "perfect day" to have our wedding anytime soon since we live in two cities still, we're looking for jobs in other cities, and we have family in two continents with very different school schedules to try to coordinate, so.. we decided lets just go ahead and do it as soon as we can and those that can be present will be there.. As our long distance relationship has used up much of my vacation time at work, I suggested a weekend adjacent to a holiday and suggested Martin Luther King day, just two weeks away. We got everything confirmed on Tuesday and I've been a very busy bee ever since. I have my dress (party dress purchased when Igigi had that great sale a few months ago - thank God it fit!), we have a location - private room in a small Italian restaurant in Cleveland where we had one of our first dates, rings, non-denominational minister lined up, cake is currently being designed by an amazing artist/baker, photography arranged (my brother-in-law!)... It's basically an elopement with my family present, probably about 25-30 people. Unfortunately, Gottfried's family is in Germany and his father is about to begin chemo and his sister is quite pregnant, so it isn't likely anyone will be present from his side. My family loves him though and has definitely adopted him as one of our own. I'm really excited about having all four of my nieces participate in the ceremony... the three oldest will each read a part of a poem about love (gotta a find a good poem!) and the youngest who asked very sweetly if she could be flower girl - though we aren't having that kind of wedding - is going to stand up with us and be my junior Maid-of-Honor, holding my flowers when the time comes. It should be good and hopefully my boss won't notice that I've not done much work the last couple of days.. It's all coming together though.

I feel incredibly blessed to have found Gottfried. He has had my heart since the first time we spoke on the phone, and maybe a little earlier when we'd chat casually in Dimensions chat and I thought maybe I could give a Dims. guy a chance again. We've managed to have a long distance relationship with 550 miles between us for a year and a half.. thank goodness for free cellular long distance calls. I just cannot wait to be his wife and eventually, we'll live under the same roof, in the same city, in the same state... :) Pardon my ramblings.. I'm a tired, but very happy girl.

Here we are at Christmas.
