This seems fun. I checked, and I didn't see anything else like this recently in the Dimensions Hall of Legends.
Anyway, pretty self-explanatory.
I've been on a Charles Mingus kick lately, gathering quite a few of his records. Since the man has released hundreds, I have a lot of material to explore! I'm currently digging his 1959 album "Blues & Roots"...such explosiveness, such soul, and the Jazz Workshop is definitley down for it. Interesting, he had been experimenting prior to this record with more classical, avant-garde, and generally more unconventional arrangments and one of the record moguls told him he should make a record that "swings" and is a little more "bluesy". Telling Mingus to swing is like telling Sour Skittles to be delicious...they pretty much just are.
