If several thousand human one-year olds were left fend for themselves on an island without outside contact what would happen to them behaviorly? Lets put aside the survival problems for now, maybe they get regular food drops from the air or something.

I'm certain they'd develop their own spoken language very quickly, I've seen twins invent their own language before learning their parents language more than once, I'm convinced language is a natural phenomenon.

They'd form into groups of some sort fairly quickly too, if you weren't in a group you may not get any food from the next food drop.

Violence would be a daily occurence, infants are inclined to violence (biting) without being taught a thing.

If resources became scarcer as they grew older would the groups become fewer and larger until you had two opposing factions? Is war natural?

I'm thinking that our species was born into a world that already had language, that already had tools and already had war. Our species wasn't the only species of humans either, I wonder if the reason our species is still here and the other human species aren't is because we were better with language, tools and war.
