As the title implies, I was wondering where the body stores additional fat and how visible additional pounds on an already fat person are.

When my wife increased her weight from BMI 44 to BMI 46 (her all-time high) in just a couple of weeks, I noticed that every single additional pound was very visible although one would expect that an additional 11 lbs on an already fat person wouldn‘t be that noticeable. But the opposite is true in her case.

Why is that?

My hypothesis is that the body doesn‘t „know“ anynmore where to „hide“ additional fat, so every additional pounds becomes visible.

What‘s your take on that?
