Tad
Dimensions' loiterer
You may have seen in the news yesterday or today the latest info from Statistics Canada, saying that about one in six Canadians is a 'visible minority'
Over the years I'm sure I've crossed paths with at least a few dozen Canucks here on Dimensions, either in chat or on the boards. What just occurred to me was that of all of them....I can think one who has been a visible minority. I admit that I could have forgotten someone from years past, but the ratio is still pretty extreme.
We've had BBW and FA and BHM and FFA, but almost all have been, to the best of my knowledge, Caucasian. Which statistically seems pretty odd. In fact, it seems so unlikely, based on random chance, that it seems likely there are other issues at play.
Now, some ethnic groups may be less likely to become all that fat, so less likely to produce BBW or BHM, but that still would not explain why no FA or FFA. So I wonder if there are cultural things at play, either producing less FA/FFA, or making people suppress those feelings more, or making them less likely to come on the net about it?
Not a huge deal, but it just seems odd that if you were to form your impression of Canada from what you see at Dimensions, you'd think there was nary a variation in skin colour.
