Rock n Roll Babe
It's here! Below is the workshop schedule for the bash. I'm really looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone in person!
Workshop Schedule
The intent of the workshops presented at this first-ever Dimensions Bash is to approximate the kind of free interchange of opinion that happens on the Dimensions forums with the added benefit of being able to see each others expressions and hear each others tone of voice! Therefore, most of the workshops are informal discussion groups organized around a broad theme or commonality. Discussion leaders will have a list of topics to start conversation and will make sure respect and civility are maintained but, as with the forums, what you bring to the workshop will define what it becomes. We want the workshops to represent everything that Dimensions represents, so please let us know if weve missed anything so we include it in future years!
If you have any specific topic that youd like to see addressed in one of the workshops but are concerned that youll be too shy to bring them up in the group, e-mail them ahead of time to [email protected] or PM them to Eclectic_Girl.
Please note:
Thursday, June 18
2:30 4:00 Fat Sexuality
Nothing like breaking the ice! This is usually the most popular topic of conversation at bashes, so we decided to address it right away. Be prepared for a frank discussion of positions, accessories, and fat- and non-fat-specific activities.
4:30 6:00 This Is How We Roll
How do you live large in a society that often seems like it isnt designed for your needs? Well talk about asking for what you need in public, advocating for yourself in medical situations, and using simple tools to make your everyday life easier.
4:30 6:00 BHM/FFA Meetup
This mixer gives BHMs and FFAs a chance to meet face-to-face while discussing their unique role in the Dimensions community. Get to know the people behind the avatars!
Friday, June 19
10:30 12:00 Strategies for Health
Health issues such as sleep apnea, diabetes, lymphedema, or other chronic conditions can be challenging, but theres no need to go it alone. Whether youre newly diagnosed or youve been dealing with this stuff for years, come share your tips for taking care of yourself in a fat-positive way.
10:30 12:00 Dont Settle: Knowing and Finding What You Want
In this group, well tackle both men's and womens issues with the realities of relationships in the fat world. Topics will include figuring out what you want from a relationship, maintaining your sense of self, identifying potential incompatibilities, and knowing its okay to walk away if its not right. Bring all suggestions and questions you may have and be ready for a wide range of opinions this one applies to everyone, regardless of your current relationship status.
2:30 4:00 Stretch for Round Bodies
Lisa Breisch leads this afternoon opportunity to stretch out and relax, specifically tailored to larger bodies. Whether you need to calm down and center after lunch or warm up your muscles for dancing, this promises to be a fun time!
2:30 4:00 FA Meetup
This mixer gives those who love fat people a chance to talk amongst themselves about the challenges and rewards of being an FA. Topics of discussion will likely include the new FA/FFA forum, coming out to friends and family, having a non-mainstream preference, FA guilt, and maintaining composure in the candy store.
4:30 6:00 In the Middle
Ever feel like youre too big for mainstream society but not big enough for the fat-loving world? If so, this groups for you. Well talk about dealing with that in-between feeling, handling rude suggestions for improvement from both directions, and claiming our place in the fat community.
4:30 6:30 Supersized Perspectives
This is a workshop in two parts: for the first hour, supersized women and those who are in a relationship with a supersized woman (or want to be) will meet in two separate groups. Well talk about issues such as hygiene, mobility, medical care, and communication, from our own perspectives. Well try to compile a list of resources and tips for people in similar situations. In the second hour, the two groups will merge, and well have a chance to ask the questions and share the concerns that arose during the first hour.
Saturday, June 20

Therapist Lisa Breisch presents this introduction to the concept of Health At Every Size, a weight-neutral approach to health and well-being that celebrates natural diversity in body size. Learn to love and care for your body as it is right now!
10:30 12:00 Ask a Fat Chick

10:30 12:00 Ask an FA
And equal time for the women. A diverse panel of male FAs will address womens questions from the guys perspective.
12:00 4:30 Free Time
We figured you needed a break by now, so take advantage of this time to nap, go for a swim, or buy some new clothes. If you want to start your own discussion group or continue a group conversation from an earlier workshop, contact Carla for access to a breakout room.
4:30 6:00 The Feeder/Feedee Lifestyle
Drop your preconceived notions at the door. For anyone who is living the lifestyle, has feeder/feedee fantasies, or is genuinely (and non-judgmentally) curious, a panel will answer questions and discuss the reality behind the feeder stereotype. Participants are expected to be respectful of peoples right to explore their fantasies and pursue consensual sexual activity.

Lisa Breisch is at it again, only this time well add some bellydance moves to the stretching!
